About the Company

Fulshear Historical Association, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, is currently seeking an experienced candidate for the VOLUNTEER position of Secretary. This role is an administrative position on the Executive Board and is responsible for documenting all meetings, activities, volunteers and memberships for the organization. It is currently supported by two additional executive board roles and six or less director positions.

• Documentation & Records Management
• Compliance & Governance
• Organizational Support & Communication
• Volunteer, Donor & Member Coordination

Requirements

  • Must reside in the state of Texas

  • Experience managing records, taking meeting minutes, or organizing documentation

  • Familiarity with preparing agendas, scheduling, and coordinating meetings

  • Knowledge of policies and core documents: bylaws, amendments, mission, vision, values, privacy

  • Ability to communicate effectively with board members, and external stakeholders

  • No strict academic requirements, but prior roles as an administrative assistant, project coordinator, or similar position


Preferred Considerations:


  • Resident of Fulshear or the nearby surrounding area

  • Previous experience serving on a board of directors, either as secretary or other capacity

  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance, legal requirements, and best practices

  • A skilled problem solver and public relations specialist

  • A respect and fondness for the people (both past and present) of Fulshear, Texas

  • An interest in history, heritage, and preservation
